Bowls Grid for recording manually.
Copy the Grid and plot each bowl played by placing a mark on the grid for Forehand and Backhand draw shots. The position plotted is the finishing position of the bowl relative to the intended target spot. For a position bowl that means the centre of the Bowls grid is moved to the intended finishing position of the bowl. This is available free to
ecoachbowls members. Email to request a copy.

For a performance analysis, either;

Total up the bowls in each area and divide by the total bowls to determine a percentage score.

or,

Use the Excel worksheet. Transfer the results from the Bowls Grid to the tables of and then a REPORT will be automatically produced for you to PRINT or copy. Further instructions are included on the Excel worksheet
The Bowls Grid is used to plot the finishing position of all draw shots played. Use this either in practice or a competition game to easily analysis draw shot performance. Using the Bowls Grid is easy but may take some practice and estimation. If in unsure of the finishing position or intention of the shot (target spot) give the player the benefit of the doubt. The results are not infallible and are at best good indicators of performance and standard. However, as more data is collected the results will become more valid and meaningful for comparative purposes.

This information will allow you to evaluate weight control, aiming line, and accuracy of draw shots. Compare practice results to game results.

Bowls Grid for recording onto computer.
This is an Excel worksheet with automatic formulas and calculations. This is available free to ecoachbowls members. Email to request a copy. Also included on the ecoachbowls CD ROM order.

For each draw shot bowl enter the number of the finishing position area on the Excel worksheet. You can then automatically complete a performance analysis. Simply enter the data for each bowl as you go, directly onto the worksheet. If you enter every bowl played either in a practice session or a competition game you will be able to create a complete performance analysis. The performance analysis includes;
Draw shot results for F/H and B/H and total draw shots played
SHOT USAGE information
Evaluation of WEIGHT CONTROL and AIMING LINE
Analysis of SHOT EFFECTIVENESS.

Worksheets for Evaluating Bowls Performance.

The Excel worksheets will automatically complete the calculations and analysis. You can then print a report from the worksheet for each player and SAVE their individual results. This can be done manually as well. If you would like help on using the computer to do this email me and I will try and assist you. Further instructions are included on the Excel worksheet.
Including Weighted shot recording and how to record Shot effectiveness data.
